The pay relativization will take effect on July 1, 2024, bringing significant changes to pay scales in both the public and private sectors.
The Ministry of Labor released new salary The Remuneration Ordinance has adjusted the wage standards of various industries. These adjustments involve employees in many industries such as transportation, preschool education, and factories.
For example, in the transport sector, a traffic supervisor with one year of service will now earn a monthly salary of Rs 24,535, rising to Rs 26,110 after ten years of service. Drivers’ salaries will increase from Rs 22,368 to Rs 23,943, depending on their years of service.
In pre-primary institutions, teachers (grade 1) earn Rs 17,671 after one year of work and Rs 18,744 after 10 years of work. Non-teaching staff such as cooks and school attendants earn Rs 17,100. As for factory workers, a chief clerk with one year of experience earns Rs 19,940, while a word processor earns Rs 17,787.
The wage rates are set for employees in various sectors, including law firms and notaries, bakeries, banks, fishermen and refrigeration workers, construction and quarrying, tourism and hospitality, cinemas, cleaning companies, distribution businesses, domestic workers, and electrical, mechanical and engineering workshops.
