The Russian Federal Aviation Administration (Rosaviatsiya) said in a written statement that flights at Murmansk Airport were temporarily suspended for the safety of civil aviation aircraft.

Murmansk Oblast Governor Andrei Chibis said in a written statement that a drone hazard had been detected in the region and that “all necessary precautions have been taken to increase security,” he said.

Murmansk is located on the Finnish border, about 2,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

Meanwhile, in images posted on Russian social media sites, a kamikaze drone flying in the area could be seen destroyed.
