“Well, I think we certainly don’t want violent criminals having access to weapons, and I think that includes people who have been convicted of stalking. But I think it’s important to say convicted,” Vance responded.
“What a lot of us who support the Second Amendment don’t want is, you know, we don’t want somebody to be stripped of their gun rights without them having gone to court. Whether it’s a First Amendment right, whether it’s a Second Amendment right, you’re entitled to due process in this country,” Vance explained.
“Certainly, people who have been convicted of crimes shouldn’t be able to carry guns. But people who haven’t had due process still have rights,” he said.
