Held private meeting with Second Vice Minister Jang My-ran.

Ahn Se-young (22, photo), who has expressed dissatisfaction with the Korea Badminton Association and the national badminton team, said she plans not to participate in the association’s fact-finding committee for the time being.
A person related to the fact-finding committee said in a phone call with Dong-A Ilbo on the 20th, “We asked An Se-young to attend the meeting on the 20th or 22nd, but An Se-young told us that it would be difficult for her to attend due to her personal schedule.” The fact-finding committee is an organization established by the badminton association and is investigating the fact that An Se-young was dissatisfied with injury management and training support after winning the women’s singles gold medal at the Paris Olympics.
At the first meeting on the 16th, the Fact-Finding Committee summoned and investigated the national team leaders including coach Kim Hak-gyun, and said, “At the next meeting, we will listen to the opinions of the national team players, including An Se-young.” An Se-young did not attend the meeting at that time. It is understood that the Fact-Finding Committee, through the leader, specifically pointed out the regrets of An Se-young’s activities in the national team. A person related to the Fact-Finding Committee said, “The most important thing is to listen to An Se-young’s story,” and added, “We decided to reschedule with An Se-young.”
Earlier, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism raised procedural issues, saying that the Badminton Association had established a fact-finding committee without a resolution from the board of directors. In response, a Badminton Association official said, “We plan to meet with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to discuss how the fact-finding committee will operate and whether to conduct a joint investigation.”
Ahn Se-young held a private meeting with Jang Mi-ran, the second vice minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the day before. The national team schedule resumed with the Japan Open, which opened on the 20th, but Ahn Se-young decided not to participate in international competitions this month due to a knee injury.
