A former prison police officer from Saranda was found hanged at the gate of a monastery in Costa village in Phoenix.
The deceased was reportedly found by a citizen while lighting candles in the temple.
According to the resident, he found the body of a 34-year-old man hanging from the inner door in the temple courtyard at around 7 o’clock that evening.
The police were immediately informed and officers from Liwadeja police station reached the spot.
The victim was identified as Roland Serjani, 34, a resident of Delvina, a parent of three children and a former prison police officer at the Saranda Detention Center.
After the detention center was closed, he was employed as a driver by a private entity in Delvina. Saranda police have started investigating the cause of this serious incident.
