Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis — St. Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee
(SKNOC) A short but meaningful General Assembly was held last night (June 6, 2024) to elect a new President following the death of the former President, Alphonso Bridgewater.
The nomination process produced one candidate, Mr. Dennis “Freddy” Knight, who served as Vice Chairman of SKNOC for many years under the leadership of the late President
Bridgewater. In the absence of alternative nominations, Mr. Knight was announced as the new Chairman
Korea Offshore Oil Corporation.
In his inaugural address, President Knight emphasized his commitment to advancing
Organize and promote deeper discussions to explore new avenues. He said, “The system that Mr. Bridgewater and his team have established is of great significance to the development of sports. This is of great significance not only to sports within the Olympic Committee, but also to sports in St. Kitts and Nevis.”
President Knight further emphasized his vision for the future, saying, “I see
An important part of my job as President is to oversee the change from the old way and what we are doing now to the new way and the structure we have in international sport. I look forward to asking some of you, and you agreeing, to participate in some of the committees so that all the work is no longer left to just those who came before you. So that in the near future there will be this change that takes us forward.”
With Mr Knight accepting the presidency, the Korean Olympic Committee now faces the challenge of filling
The Vice President position is now vacant. The organization looks forward to continuing its mission
Embracing the future of sports in St. Kitts and Nevis under new leadership.
