“Impeachable conduct.”
“Overall Corruption The facts uncovered by the committee are shocking.”
“This is a concerted effort to conceal President Biden’s involvement in his family’s influence peddling scheme.”
That’s the finding of three Republican-led House committees’ investigation into President Biden’s conduct. This is the final report of the Republican impeachment inquiry into Mr. Biden. House Speaker Kevin McCarthyCalifornia Republicans verbally launched the investigation last summer in an attempt to quell an insurgency from their right wing, and the House finally formally launched the inquiry in December through a roll-call vote.
Note that many Republicans want to Final Fall, not a few months ago 2024 Election.
“Republicans have consistently sought to obstruct and hinder investigations into Mr. Trump’s actual proven corruption, including his unconstitutional acceptance of millions of dollars while commander in chief from foreign governments that sought and routinely received favors from the Trump Administration,” Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, said in his own “Fight Back” report.
House Republicans released the 292-page report hours before the president was scheduled to address the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
The document argues that Biden’s actions should be sanctioned, saying his “blatant abuse of power is obvious: the House of Representatives will impeach him and the Senate will remove him from office.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., encouraged “all Americans to read the report.” But beyond thanking the committee for its work, Johnson did not suggest a vote on impeachment would occur or that House Republican leadership was considering the possibility.
This is because, at this stage, a future vote to impeach President Biden is likely to fail in Congress.
Why? It’s math. At least a dozen House Republicans oppose impeachment. A senior House GOP leadership source called the vote now “meaningless.”
Fox News has learned that when President Biden decides Oppose re-election. Moreover, Biden only has five months left in his term. Moreover, an impeachment vote would put moderate Republicans in swing districts in a difficult position as the GOP tries to maintain its slim majority. An impeachment vote at this stage – could lead to a parliamentary defeat. Democrats could then turn the failed impeachment vote back on those vulnerable Republicans. Democrats would highlight how Republicans have been trying to impeach President Biden for more than a year. Ultimately leading to a failed parliamentary vote.

A failed impeachment vote would undermine the Republican report itself and constitute an unforced error by the GOP.
This also means that Republicans may haveMutuallySyllable ErrorABIt’s just before the election. Mr. Biden’s problems should be old news to Republicans. But rightly or wrongly, focusing on President Biden is not where the GOP needs to spend its time. Anything to do with impeachment will only steal the spotlight from the narrative Republicans are trying to spin about Vice President Harris. Republicans are still trying to define Harris. Ceding to President Biden would undermine that strategy.

If House Republicans really want to impeach the president — and play by the book — they will likely need to hold at least one or two more public hearings. It would also require a “assessment” session of the Judiciary Committee before the matter can be sent to the House floor for consideration.
The bill will then go to the House Rules Committee before being debated and voted on.
How many articles of impeachment could Republicans concoct for President Biden? One? Two? Four?
The House impeached Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas earlier this year, charging him with two counts of impeachment: violating a law and violating the public trust.
After the 2021 Capitol riot, the House of Representatives introduced articles of impeachment against former President Trump for “incitement of insurrection.”
In 1998, the House Judiciary Committee prepared four articles of impeachment against former President Clinton for his affair with Monica Lewinsky. The House approved only two articles, perjury and obstruction of justice. The rest were rejected by the House.
House Republicans will read and consider the impeachment report while Congress is in recess. Some internal debate is expected when House Republicans convene for the first time on the morning of September 10.
But just because House Republican leaders don’t want the House involved in impeachment doesn’t mean they won’t face pressure to do so. Hardline conservatives could try to force a vote in the House. FOX has learned that Republican leaders are preparing for that possibility. House of Representatives ReturnsA rank-and-file Republican lawmaker could force an impeachment vote through a “privileged” resolution. Such special resolutions must be brought to the floor immediately or within two legislative days. Democrats could either shelve or veto the resolution. Republicans would then be in the dubious position of either voting against shelving the resolution or voting to veto it.

A senior Democratic source in the House even speculated to Fox that since the House cannot impeach President Biden, Democrats may Won’t Trying to put impeachment on hold. They’re going to leave that to the Republicans. Imagine this scenario: Republicans are prepared to put their own impeachment measures on hold. That would certainly be humiliating for the Republican Party.
But that’s just a minor issue for Republicans. Voting to shelve the impeachment resolution is just one step away from actually voting to impeach itself. Failure to shelve the resolution would prompt the House to vote up or down on impeachment itself. Republicans’ rejection of impeachment – after they have been discussing it for much of this Congress – would look foolish. It also highlights a problem that the GOP has been grappling with since the beginning of 2023 – the need for a Republican to hold office while in office. McCarthy and Johnson: Ultra-Conservative members are causing trouble for other members of the party. This includes fighting for the speakership and government funding.

In the “Conclusions” section of their report, the three House committees declared that the president’s actions “constitute impeachable conduct.” The committees added that it was now up to the full House to “evaluate and consider appropriate next steps.”
Most Republicans don’t want to wrestle with the impeachment of an aging, partially-departed president. Especially as the GOP tries to maintain its slim majority in the House of Representatives — and former President Trump faces a backlash from the administration.
