WestThe Andlers easily defeated the Signia Globe Financial Inc BCA Juniors team in the second series of the BCA Elite Division Three-Day Championship on Sunday.

When play resumed that day, only one run was needed to win and captain Ian Boyce took six wickets in the first innings of the day’s play, having already taken three wickets in the first innings.

The youth team was bowled out for 112 and lost the match with an innings score of 104.

Boyce finished with figures of 6/24 while Shomari Gittens was the top scorer for the junior team with 33 points.

At the end of the game against Wildey, the Fusionz Boutique Spartan team won by 89 points.

Akil Greenidge of Sparta opened the innings at 94/3 and hit a half-century on 59 with a lead of 211. They finished the innings at 165/6.

Andre Marshall scored three points for the Spartans.

Chasing 283 runs for victory, Wildey’s Demetrius Richards and Craig St Hill put together a solid 113-run partnership before St Hill was dismissed for 51 and Richards continued to work hard, scoring 72 but was caught by the keeper at 165/6.

With victory in sight and time running out, Spartans applied pressure and took the last 4 wickets before the end of the match, with Wilder getting out for 194 runs.

Andre Marshall was the top bowler with figures of 3/57.

Ryshon Williams top-scored for Yorkshire, scoring 70 runs.

Barbadian batsman Kevin Wickham scored a hundred to help home team Empire to top the batting tally against the ESA Field Pickwick.

Wickham batted patiently in the day’s match, scoring 65. He scored exactly 100 runs in 168 balls and was dismissed immediately after hitting his hundred.

The match ended in a dull draw, with Empire batting all day and scoring 333/7.

Joshua Haynes (57) and Sian Brathwaite (51) both scored half-centuries for Empire.
