Those interested in running for the Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region can submit their applications between August 29 and September 12.
According to the government statementDuring this period, they must also sign a declaration of allegiance to the Macau Basic Law and the People’s Republic of China.

After receiving the application, the Election Management Commission and the National Security Commission will review the candidates’ qualifications.
The committee has the authority to make binding decisions on applicants’ eligibility, with no appeals allowed.
The Chief Executive Election Law stipulates that an individual who intends to run for the position of Chief Executive candidate must obtain the nomination of at least 66 members of the Chief Executive Election Committee.
