“We are acting on the instructions of Liteboho Mahloane lawyers. We are instructed by our client to claim RM5 million from you as damages arising from the torture, illegal arrest, detention and inhumane treatment of our client,” NJ Chambers wrote on August 9, 2024.
“The client told us that on 4 July 2024, he was arrested by members of the Lesotho Defence Force in the early morning while he was sleeping with his wife. Mr Mahloane was released after Justice Fumane Khabo ordered his release and allowed him to consult a doctor of his choice after the military failed to explain to the court that he was being treated at Makoanyane Hospital.
