An active trough of low pressure is moving eastward this weekend, bringing heavy rain and strong winds to many parts of the United States. North Island and South Island.
Orange rainstorm warning issued in eastern China Bay of Plenty The extreme north-west ranges of Gisborne will also see heavy rain from 8pm on Saturday, with up to 130mm expected.
An orange heavy rain warning has also been issued for Mount Taranaki and the Tararua Ranges from Saturday afternoon, with up to 160mm and 180mm of rain expected respectively.
Ground flooding, landslides and difficult driving conditions are possible. Weather Services warn.
