Germany’s refugee commissioner Joachim Stup has called on the government to deport Afghan refugees who are heading to Afghanistan for their summer vacation.
He was responding to recent reports that thousands of Afghan refugees in Germany are spending their summer vacations in Afghanistan.
Stamp said Germany should be committed to international humanitarian norms, but he said the country was not stupid.
The report was released by the European Conservative Party news website on Friday (26 Asad) with reference to a report by German RTL TV.
The report said the revelation reinforced the argument of anti-immigration parties that many people seeking “asylum” in Germany are actually abusing the asylum system and simply want to access social benefits.
Some Afghan refugees have reportedly used blue passports to return to Afghanistan.
German authorities issue blue passports to asylum seekers who do not have any national identity documents. About 60,000 Afghan asylum seekers have received blue passports in Germany.
