At least four senior Ukrainian armed forces and National Guard officers were killed in an attack by Russian troops in the Kharkiv region.
Russian online media said that the dead included: Mihaylo Drapati, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Commander of the Kharkiv Army Group; Andrei Genatov, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Commander of the Joint Armed Forces of Ukraine; Alexander Pivnenko, Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine, and Vladimir Gorbatuk, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
All four were allegedly involved in organizing an attack by Ukrainian armed forces on Russia’s Kursk region.
They were all in a hidden command post in the village of Malinovka, and a total of 20 senior Ukrainian officers were killed.
The attack took place on the night of August 6-7.
As alleged, the two Iskanders once again played the leading roles.
Kyiv has yet to officially confirm it.
One of the Ukrainian comments on this information was:
“Idiots, if you decide to hold a large command meeting, let’s solve the air defense problem first.”
On August 6, Ukrainian troops invaded the Kursk region on the Russian border.
