41 Palestinians injured in Gaza war flown to Malaysia for treatment

The two Palestinians, aged between eight months and 62, were flown to the Muslim-majority country from the Egyptian capital of Cairo on two Malaysian air force transport planes.

“We carried out this mission purely on humanitarian grounds and to express our solidarity with the suffering of the Palestinian people,” Malaysian Defense Minister Mohamad Khalid Nordin said at a news conference after receiving the patient.

“It also demonstrates our country’s stance against this inhumane genocide.”

Nordin said the injured were selected after a “careful assessment” to ensure they were in good health to complete the 19-hour flight via Karachi, Pakistan.

There are 86 family members or close relatives around the injured.
