MANILA, Philippines — Japan national volleyball team star Ran Takahashi will visit Manila once again, this time as a local brand ambassador.

PVL team Akari Chargers announced on Thursday evening that Takahashi will be coming to the country as the latest ambassador of the brand.

The fan favorite of Japan’s Dragons has been one of the team’s most anticipated players in the past three editions of the Manila Volleyball World League.

However, his career at VNL Manila has been plagued by injuries, the most recent of which was in June last year. Takahashi needs to fly home Before the game is over.

Takahashi and the Japanese spiking team reached the World League finals but ultimately lost to France, who also won the 2024 Paris Olympic gold medal, and settled for silver.

Japan suffered a heartbreaking loss In the quarter-finals of the Paris Olympics against Italy, both teams were leading by two sets.

Takahashi and his players are expected to compete in the country’s 2025 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship at the Mall of Asia Arena and Smart Araneta Coliseum.
