1. The film must be screened for 7 consecutive days in commercial cinemas in the country where the film was produced.
2. The majority of the dialogue throughout the film must be in a language other than English.
3. The film must be promoted through various advertising methods inside and outside the cinemas and reach the audience directly.
4. The film’s premiere in Egypt should be on November 1, 2023, and not after September 24, 2024.
5. The film should be at least 40 minutes long.
Composition and working rules of the committee:
The committee for selecting the Oscar-nominated films is composed of the heads of professional film associations and includes many experts from various fields of the Egyptian film industry. The list of films produced and commercially screened since November. Between October 1, 2023 and October 2, 2024, the list of shortlisted films will be determined and voting will be held after watching the films and selecting the Oscar-nominated films.
Information about submitting your film:
Notices will be issued to advance films commercially produced and screened between November 1, 2023 and October 2, 2024, and producers will be contacted so that their films can be viewed by committee members.
