Raiffeisenbank has stopped providing foreign currency transfers to individuals. This was reported by the bank’s press service.
It is understood that Raiffeisenbank will stop handling foreign currency transfer services for individual customers from September 2nd.
It is worth noting that the introduction of these restrictions is related to the decision of the bank’s parent company, the Austrian Reserve Bank Group, whose orders were issued by the European Central Bank.
Raiffeisenbank said: “We sincerely apologize if this situation disrupts your financial plans, but we cannot influence this decision.”
Other banking products may also be shut down as a result of the ECB’s demands, leaving Russian credit institutions facing complete closure if management does not have time to comply with the regulator’s instructions.
The deadline for overseas currency transfers is August 30 (until 16:00), after which the bank will no longer accept customer applications.
