The annual Hóla Festival takes place this weekend in Hólar, Hjaltadal, and as usual, there is a rich and varied programme. The main event takes place on Sunday, but the celebration begins with a mass at 14:00 in Hóladóm Church (Hóladómkirka). There, Bishop Agnes M. Sigurðardóttir will give a sermon and bid farewell to Hólastifti. The festive party begins at 16:00 in Hóladómkirkja, with the speaker being Áslaug Arna Sigurbjörnsdóttir, Minister of Universities, Industry and Innovation.
On Saturday, the pilgrimage from Svarfaðardal to Hóla begins. The bus leaves from Hólar at 8 am and will depart from Atlasstadir at 10 am. Walk leader: Sr. Þorgrímur Daníelsson.
