ShareWORLD University signs landmark MoU with Media Council

ShareWORLD University has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Media Commission of Malawi (MCM) to enhance media education and promote ethical and professional journalism practices in Malawi.

The ceremony was held at the ShareWORLD University main campus and was presided over by Vice Chancellor Dr. Theodora Mapemba Musamba and MCM Vice President Patricia Kamnkhwani.

The partnership aims to leverage MCM’s expertise to improve ShareWORLD’s media training programs and provide hands-on training opportunities for mass communication students.

Dr. Musamba: By working together we can create a better future

Dr. Musamba stressed the importance of collaboration, saying: “By working together, we can create a better future for our students, our communities and our country.”

The MOU will strengthen curriculum and assessment, facilitate practical training and internships, and promote ethical journalism practices.

MCM vice-chairman Patricia Kamnkhwani hailed the signing as a milestone for media excellence and professionalism.

“Together we have the potential to shape the future of media education in Malawi,” she said.

The collaboration is expected to bridge the gap between academia and the media world, producing graduates who are knowledgeable, skilled, innovative and adaptable.

ShareWORLD University also announced plans to launch ShareWORLD Radio, a campus radio station that will provide students, faculty and the community with a platform to share their voices and showcase their talents.
