But about 4 months later, on August 21, 2023, the Pheu Thai Party and the two uncles’ parties finally had to reach an agreement and join hands!

At about 1:30 pm that day, Pheu Thai Party leader Dr. Chonnan Srikaew read out a statement that Pheu Thai Party represented 11 political parties with a total of 314 votes to form a government, without amending Article 112, and the Pheu Thai Party did not join the government. They jointly decided to nominate Mr. Settha Thavisin, the Pheu Thai Party’s prime ministerial candidate as prime minister at the parliamentary meeting.

The 11 parties include Pheu Thai, Bhumjaithai, Palang Pracharat, Ruam Thai Sang Chart, Chart Thai Phatthana, Prachachart, Chart Patthana Kla, Pheu Thai Ruam Palang, Seri Ruam Thai, New Socialist Force, Local Pheu Thai and New Party.
