Guyana yesterday signed an investment agreement to build a state-of-the-art waste treatment plant worth US$214 million.
The agreement was initially signed by Dr. Ashni Singh, Senior Minister in the Office of the President for Finance and Public Service, according to a release from Guyana’s Department of Public Information (DPI). It was formally handed over by Dr. Peter Ramsaroop, Guyana’s Chief Investment Officer, to Mahendra Jettoo, Chief Executive Officer of Professional Waste Solutions (PWSI).
After signing the agreement, Dr Ramsarup said the waste treatment plant will be built at Coveden on the east bank of the Demerara River. It will create more than 40 jobs.
