In the series Antena 1, Gru Nitto plays Nicola, aka Gumaru, a man of noble birth, cult-bound, who studied in France but constantly declines until he falls into a passion for alcoholism and experiences a series of tragedies that mark his life. “I have many memories and wonderful friendships with the production team of this series, so when I received the casting call, I responded with great love. In addition to the professional team behind the scenes, I was very happy to have discovered an excellent cast at the front. About my character, I can only tell you that he will have an interesting route that I can’t wait for you to discover. See you soon, in lavender-scented love!”.

Baba Jana, the witch, knows everyone and warns them when she has a premonition. She can’t just disappear in the idyllic scenery of the village. She has lived in the village for as long as she can remember, mostly alone, because the children left the country long ago. Baba Jana always clashes with the priest, who has placed a curse on Anda’s father (played by Michaela Prosan). In “Lavender Love”, Baba Jana will be played by Liliana Hodorogia.

Graduated from the Bucharest Academy of Theatre and Film Arts “IL Caragiale” under the tutelage of Professor Dem Rădulescu, Liliana Hodorogea has appeared in many plays such as: “Troienele – The Ancient Trilogy”, “Hamlet Machine” or “The Tree of Illusions”, in shows such as “The Cherry Orchard”, “The Slums”, “Orpheus in Hell” or “Bacchus”, and in films: “I Miss You Every Day” or “Maria and the Sea”. In 2007, he won the Grand Prize of the National Speech Festival “Luceafărul” created by Eminem for his guidance and interpretation of the song “Barely Understanding”.

About her role in Lavender Love, Liliana Khodorogia revealed: “Sometimes I experience miracles. The same was true of the meeting with the character of Baba Jana from the lavender paradise. But especially with Ruxandra Ion, I found in him a warm, open man, like a bell to her children, who gave infinite love to his every word, every gesture. I think I have been waiting for more than twenty years for such a meeting. I was surprised that such a project required so much work, which I probably did not imagine, and certainly not most people. But what a healing energy it brought! Baba Jana, the picturesque character in the series, Jana, an empirical psychologist, a baba of healing, charms and spells, gave me the opportunity to portray a long line of village witches that some of us have met and others know from their stories. That baba, who has been through a lot, seen a lot, does not let himself be knocked down, seems to sense signs and is connected to a strange land, to which I hope I can also give the cheeky humor that is characteristic of this rural world. . I hope the public will accept and understand Baba Jana, a witness to a world that has almost disappeared! “, reveals the actress.

Lavender tells an original love story between two mature people, caught between two completely different worlds, but who have the opportunity to rebuild their lives next to each other and find happiness beyond all the difficulties they have and continue to be involved in. Filming is in full swing in an idyllic village near Bucharest, and viewers can get behind-the-scenes images of the project by following the show’s official social media accounts.
