Google’s annual Made by Google showcase has come to an end. As expected, the theme of this year’s showcase was to bring Gemini AI to every corner of the Google portfolio.
These include the recently unveiled Pixel 9 series, which this year includes a folding phone, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Pixel Watch security features
We’re now looking at the Pixel Watch 3’s safety features, specifically “lost pulse” detection, which is something we haven’t come across before. Google’s wearable can catch these events when they happen and call emergency contacts or emergency services for help.
Experts say its invention could become “a model for airbags or smoke detectors.”

Magic Editor Improvements
A host of new features are rolling out to the Magic Editor tool, a Pixel-exclusive photo editing app that uses generative AI to fix your photos.

Add me
This is a really fun little feature on the Pixel 9 phones.
The “Add Me” feature seamlessly merges you into those group photos you always take. Photograph your friends as usual, swap positions, and a ghostly afterimage will help you find the right spot. Then just take a second photo and the photos will merge.

Pixel Camera
This year’s Pixel phones feature a completely redesigned camera pipeline built around artificial intelligence. Google calls it the world’s first AI camera, but what does that mean? We’re not quite sure.
The results speak for themselves, though. Night Sight photography now works in panorama mode, and the photos look impressive. Google even teased the iPhone 15 Pro Max in a comparison shot of the two phones.

Pixel Studio
We were live demoing a product of the new Pixel Studio app, which lets you change the look and feel of your photos using Gemini AI prompts. We were retouching a photo of a campfire, switching it to a retro video game look, and throwing in stickers of friends’ faces to create a party invitation.
