Opposition leader Moses Shain Barrow remains a target for members of the United Democratic Party as the move to remove him continues. A press release issued today indicates that a group of UDP flagbearers known as the Democratic Alliance have submitted a third petition calling for a National Party Council meeting. The alliance is led by Tracy Panton of Albert, who is vying for the leadership seat of the UDP. According to the press release, the petition sent to Chairman Michael Peyrefitte calls for a National Council meeting as a platform to review the basis of the Central Executive Committee’s decision to remove the flagbearer and to clarify the interpretation of certain sections of the party constitution. The alliance believes that certain sections of the constitution are being violated. The best news for Love News is that Chairman Peyrefitte does not plan to respond to this latest petition. One of the recent moves under Barrow’s leadership was the removal of Caribbean Coast flagbearer Andrew Bradley. It is not clear how this removal was carried out, but last weekend, the department advertised a vacancy and invited people to apply for a replacement position.
