Minnesota Gov. Tim Waltz is heading to the Hamptons this week for a $50,000-per-ticket fundraiser, Page Six has learned, marking his first campaign event in New York.
The Democratic vice presidential candidate will give a speech in Southampton on Thursday and will perform on stage with the Grammy-winning British folk band Mumford & Sons.
“This will be the Governor’s first event in New York for the 2024 Harris-Waltz campaign, and we look forward to gathering an energized group of supporters for the campaign ahead of the Democratic National Convention,” read an email to donors about the event, obtained by Page Six.
Admission is limited to donors who give $50,000 or more, but donors who give $75,000 or more will get a chance to take a photo with Waltz and attend a “VIP reception.”
This won’t be the Harris-Waltz campaign’s only stop in the Hamptons before the election.
Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff will appear in Sag Harbor and Watermill later this month and at an event on Aug. 31 with Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo.
Vice President Kamala Harris will skip the Hamptons event as summer comes to an end and will instead attend a New York City donor event in Manhattan this fall, a source exclusively tells Page Six.
