Faridpur Metropolitan Jubdar Chairperson Benazir Ahmed Tabrizi has been expelled from the Central Jubdar for involvement in activities that violate party discipline. This information was learned from a press release signed by Jubdar Central Executive Committee Secretary Nurul Islam Sohel on Sunday (August 11) evening.
The notification stated that Benazir Ahmed Tabrizi, the president of the Faridpur Mahanagar Jub Dar Party, had been expelled from the party for participating in activities that violated party discipline. The party did not bear any responsibility for the wrong behavior of the expelled leader and required the leaders and staff of the Youth League at all levels not to have any organizational relationship with him.
The notification also stated that Jatiyatabadi Judo Dal Central Executive Committee Chairman Abdul Monayem Munna and Secretary General Mohammad Nurul Islam Nayan have implemented the decision.
On Sunday, the seventh edition of the Manabzamin daily carried a headline “Tabriz is busy destroying the reputation of BNP Paribas in Faridpur to capture the market.” The headline also used Tabriz’s portrait.
According to the released information, Benazir Ahmed Tabriz is spending his busy time in Bhagbatwara. The Tepakora fresh market in the city was earlier divided up by Awami League leaders and activists. After the fall of the Awami League government, the names of some BNP leaders who were busy controlling this market were heard. One of them was Tabriz. Apart from this, his name has been repeatedly discussed in many corruption cases.
To protest the news, Tabriz held a press conference at the Faridpur Press Club at around 1:30 pm on Sunday, claiming that the news release was “completely mediocre and weird” and expressed strong protest against the news release, saying that in the municipal elections in Faridpur, someone used dishonest means and lies to implement the agenda of a special group of people, and the release of this news was to tarnish my public image.
Benazir Ahmed Tabrizi said in a written statement issued at the press conference that the statement I made in the published news was also fabricated because the journalist did not discuss the matter with me.
Tabriz complained that I was a candidate for Faridpur city in the last election. Naiba Yusuf, vice chairman of the Nationalist Women’s Party, was nominated by the party. Later I withdrew my candidacy. I want to be elected as the mayor of Faridpur city in the next election. In order to prevent me from being a candidate again in the next election, there is a special person who spreads such lies to improve my image and let that journalist carry out his agenda, which is to prepare in advance.
Asked about Tabriz’s expulsion, the two top regional BNP leaders declined to comment.
