TEL AVIV, August 12 (Euronews) – The Israeli Army announced early on Monday that its air defence systems had detected around 30 drones launched from Lebanon, presumably as a result of drones launched by Lebanese Shia militia Hezbollah during the conflict between the two sides in the war in the Gaza Strip.
“Regarding the alert activated in the north of the country over the past hour, about 30 launches were detected from Lebanese territory towards the Kabali area, and several impacts were detected in open areas. There were no victims,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said before reporting that they were attacking the “source” of the attack.

According to a report, Hezbollah has assured that its members “bombed the headquarters of the newly formed 146th Division in Jatun with Katyusha rockets” in response to “attacks by Israeli enemies on towns and residential buildings in the south.” The Lebanese television network Al Manar published a statement related to the group.
These actions came after Hezbollah announced the death of three militants, Hassan Ghadhabn Mustafa, Ali Samir Hijazi Abu Zeinab and Mujahid Muhamad Hani Haidr Abu al Fadl. In addition, the authorities reported that the Israeli bombing in the town of Maroub has injured 12 people, including a woman and a five-month-old girl, who are in critical condition, according to the NNA news agency.

Since October 8, a day after a Hamas offensive that killed nearly 1,200 people and kidnapped about 240, Israeli forces and Hezbollah — which is backed by Iran and has significant political influence in Lebanon — have engaged in a series of clashes. Gaza authorities have reported nearly 39,800 dead and 91,702 injured.
