Judging from the happiness of Rwandans expressing their willingness to vote for Kagame when they said “it’s you”, he found out that this is not just about him alone but about him and all Rwandans together.
In his speech after being sworn in, he said: “Now we have to look to the future. We have achieved a lot in the past 30 years, but there are still many things we have not yet achieved but we will achieve in the coming years.
He added: “Therefore, this new task is the beginning of us taking more actions to achieve what we want. Why don’t we overcome what we have done? It is not a dream to think about it. It is possible. It will definitely be possible. We can do it and we will do it. The most important thing is that we are together. We are one. Thank you very much for your efforts. I have confidence and support.”
President Kagame said that Rwandans gave him a chance and trusted him to work for them and everything they wanted would come true, so there are actually many things that they need to continue to resolve and unite, and the same trust is in him and he is in them.
President Kagame said the campaign period was joyous and it showed that Rwandans were satisfied as evidenced by the millions of Rwandans who participated in the campaign and voted well, not only in numbers but more than was seen.

“Honestly, Rwandans have shown unity and common purpose, commitment to our future, which is what we have been fighting for all these years,” he said.
He thanked the Rwandans from near and far who came to take the oath with him for the joy of meeting them, which was an indication of the good relations between their home countries and Rwanda, most of whom were well aware of the path Rwanda had gone through in the past 30 years.
He said the campaign was successful and Rwandans participated in the elections, which showed how they decide the future of the country in the coming years and that Rwanda’s politics suits Rwandan society.
He said, “In the past 30 years, Rwanda has tried to do more and has done more than planned, which means that Rwanda’s past has shown a bad history, but Rwanda has moved beyond that and is working hard.”
On security in the region where Rwanda is located, President Kagame said that peace will not come because otherwise the right things need to be done in a sustainable way to achieve peace and no one should believe that people will have peace when the conditions are not met.
“People should have a place to gather so that they can find peace, you don’t wake up in the morning and say this is how you can find peace, there should be a gathering, something to talk about, and this is the time to think about the world we are going to bring to our children because there is more that unites us than we think,” he said.

President Kagame said it was not necessary to understand the same things, but it was important to respect everyone’s choice because it was no longer possible for a superpower to dictate the future of a country that was still under construction, nor was it appropriate even if it came from pressure.
He said: “Just as we do not accept injustice coming from Africa, we Africans have been fighting injustice for a long time and we do not need to be taught how to do it, we have to accept that we need to reconcile our politics with the aspirations of our people”.
He said it was of the utmost importance that people live in a way that respects them and it was a principle that these responsibilities could not be ignored because United Africa was born to build a better future where the voices of Africans were heard.
President Kagame said it was important to take responsibility for resolving youth issues and that it was important to take measures that would benefit everyone because Africa was a historical and cultural land.
