Since we started Planet Money Records and released the song “Inflation” 47 years ago, which became an instant hit. It recently reached 1 million streams on Spotify. Now we have the full commodity — Includes limited edition vinyl, colorful neon hoodie and 70s-style stickers — n.pr/shopplanetmoney.
After founding our record label and negotiating our first record deal, we released “Inflation” to the world to learn about the hidden economics of the music industry. Things got complicated when we tried to turn the song into a hit. It’s not enough to just sound good, making money in the music industry means being creative, patient, and knowing the right people.
