Guatemala – The Bulls achieved an important result as a visiting team.

The second day of the 2024 Apetula Championship saw the Municipal team and Malacateco tie without a goal, a result that is undoubtedly unfavorable for the Reds, who have yet to win this season, while for the Bulls, it is a moral blow in their favor after losing the first game.

The game was in a stalemate from the beginning. Although the ball was in the Reds’ side, it did not have the expected effect. They were limited to holding the ball in the midfield and looking for overflow opportunities.

The main purpose of the Bulls’ arrival at the Red Stadium was to maintain order in all fronts and prevent the opponent from getting into danger, thus covering the most space.

The champions’ only shots on goal in the first half came from Jeffrey Bantes and Esteban Garcia, but were blocked by goalkeeper Christian Vargas.

In addition, the Bulls showed another attitude, which they quickly proved, with Raul Calderon’s shot from the center being well controlled by Kenderson Navarro and then William Amaya’s shot hitting the top.

The Reds, for their part, kept trying to reach the opposition goal but never had a clear idea, and they kept coming up against opposition defenders who seemed true to their style.

One of the goals came from Pedro Altan, who tried a shot with his left foot but it went wide, and one of the clear goals came from a header from Jose Morales that barely went over the bar.

The Reds were in despair and didn’t wake up until the end, especially when Altan first tried a shot, which was blocked by Vargas, and then assisted Jeffrey Banters to cross the ball, but the shot was barely high.

In the end, Malacateco managed an important draw with El Trebor, while the municipal team has not won in its last four games (two in the 2024 season opener and two in the Central American Cup).
