In August this year, Montenegro will host one of the most important events in the field of classical music – the International Piano Festival, which attracts the attention of musical talents from the region and beyond. She was a guest on the Montenegrin TV morning show and said that the Montenegro International Piano Festival will be held from August 20 to 28, including masterclasses and concerts by world-renowned pianists and a piano competition in Kotor.
Lopshina noted that although summer is a holiday season, interest in festivals is extremely high.
“We have registered candidates from Montenegro, the region, and countries such as Turkey and Italy. This shows that there is a lot of interest even though this is an August appointment,” Lopshina said.
The idea to organize the festival stemmed from Lopushina’s passion for classical music and piano performance during her studies at the Cetinje Conservatory.
“I have always wanted to organize a piano festival in our country to promote classical music and provide support for young talents,” Lopshina said.
She noted that the festival will bring together some of the world’s most renowned artists in classical music and that the festival’s artistic director, renowned Spanish pianist Pablo Galdo, played a key role in bringing these renowned artists to Montenegro.
“In addition to the competition component, the festival will also include masterclasses by world-renowned pianists such as Cyprien Katsaris and Gülsin Onay. These classes will provide young talents with the opportunity to learn from the best, while the audience will enjoy top-notch piano concerts,” Lopshina said.
She said the concert ticket prices were symbolic and would allow more audiences to enjoy the musical event, and would be purchased through the festival’s official website and social networks.
“The general sponsors of the festival are the Ministry of Culture and Media of Montenegro and the Electricity Company of Montenegro, with support from the embassies of France and Turkey. We are grateful that they recognize the value of this festival,” Lopshina said.
She believes the festival will become a tradition and make a significant contribution to the country’s cultural life.
