UNRWA Commissioner-General Philip Lazzarini said today that “today is another day of horror (in Gaza),” referring to an Israeli attack on a school in Gaza that, according to the Palestinian Authority, killed up to 100 people.
“Unbearable things cannot become the norm,” he declared.
At the same time, Lazzarini stressed that all parties to the Gaza war “must always protect civilians and civilian infrastructure” and must not use “schools and other civilian facilities for military or war purposes.”
He added: “It is time to put an end to these atrocities happening before our eyes.”
Israeli armed forces claimed today that there were about two dozen fighters from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the school that was hit by an airstrike in Gaza City this morning.
