Omanis consider this Iranian city their second home

Announcing the growth in trade between Iran and Oman in recent years, Jamali Razaghi Jahormi, president of the Iran-Oman Joint Chamber of Commerce, said that the trade volume between the two countries in 1402 increased by 60% over 1401, reaching about 1 billion and 400 million US dollars respectively in 1401 and 42% over 1400.

The head of the Iran-Oman Joint Chamber of Commerce explained the quality of trade relations between Iran and Oman compared to other southern neighbors: Iranians’ trade with Omanis has not been able to gain ground compared to the trade strength of other countries in the southern Persian Gulf, especially the UAE, and this is due to frictions, but an important point about Iran’s trade with Oman is that the country is the only one among the Persian Gulf countries that has zero tariffs on trade with 61 countries in the world, and the United States is one of them.

He added: Oman, located in the neighboring country of Iran, has this privilege. Iran and Oman have agreed that if Iranian producers complete at least 30% of their production chain in Oman, they will benefit from the privilege of exporting goods from Oman at zero tariffs and export their goods as Omani goods. Oman also provides the necessary infrastructure to promote the production and development of foreign capital and provides airport visas to Iranian travelers.

Regarding the fact that Oman can become a consumer market for Iran’s final goods, Razaghi Jahormi said: Oman has a population of less than 5 million, so it is not a large and attractive market for Iranian goods, and it is impossible to supply goods in large quantities, so the trade privilege with this country is equivalent to entering the markets of 61 countries with zero tariffs, and any Iranian industry that has the strength to compete in the world market can use Oman as an export location again.

He went on to talk about the high desire of Omanis to receive medical services from Iranians, explaining: Omanis fly to Shiraz more often than any other place in Iran, visiting the city for all kinds of medical services, even for simple illnesses, Shiraz is their second home They know that quite a number of Omanis own residential buildings in Shiraz.
