A woman fled the scene with her dog, which brutally mauled a puppy to death, as angry witnesses screamed and chased her.
The deceased Maltese’s owners, Andrea Jadgeo and AJ Tay, said the woman’s large dog “came out of nowhere,” off a leash, and attacked at Second Beach, B.C. Canada Monday afternoon.
AJ said video of the attack showed horrified beachgoers trying to separate the two dogs while children howled in fear. Canadian Television He tried to pry the large dog’s mouth open but it “just wouldn’t budge.”
When the large dog finally let go of the victim, the owner fled the scene, followed by the witness, who ordered her to “get back” while recording her actions.
Andrea and AJ’s dog, named Skye, was pronounced dead at the vet and they are now calling on the owner to come forward and take responsibility.

The dog’s owners, AJ Tay and Andrea Jagdao, said their family was “devastated” by the loss of their beloved dog and called on the owner to hand himself in.
Jagdeo said she, AJ and their children were enjoying the afternoon at the beach and taking Sky for a walk when the tragedy occurred.
“This huge dog came out of nowhere, broke free from its leash and ran right between me and my daughter,” she told Canadian TV network News.
Witness Harmony Hemmelgarn captured the chaotic scene as passers-by struggled to rescue the man, describing the moment as “absolutely horrific”.
“The big dog had clamped its jaws around the small dog’s entire abdomen.”
Jagdeo said her beloved pet was only freed when a witness began kicking the large dog, and she and AJ ran with Skye in their arms as a Good Samaritan drove them to the vet.
She added: “I shouted to her that I loved her and asked her to stay with us.”

Tay and Jagdao carried Sky away after she was attacked. Jagdao said: “I shouted to her that I loved her and that it was fine as long as she stayed with us.”
As they rushed to the vet, other witnesses chased the large dog’s owner as she fled the horrific scene.
Hemmelgarn, one of the people who chased the dog’s owners, called their actions “extremely disrespectful” and said she was “responsible for the dog’s actions.”
AJ asked the woman to “turn herself in” and called her actions of fleeing the scene “an extremely cowardly act”.
Parents said they were particularly disturbed by the fact that so many children, including their own, witnessed the puppy being torn apart and mauled to death.
“No one should have to see this,” Jagdeo said. “They saw something they shouldn’t have seen, and it’s heartbreaking that this happened to our own daughter.”
Animal attorney Victoria Shroff told CTV News that while it’s not always illegal for a dog owner to remain at the scene of a dog attack, the possible penalties vary widely.
“People can face a variety of penalties, from city code fines to criminal charges,” she said, “and everything in between, as well as civil lawsuits for damages.”
AJ called on the woman to “turn herself in” and called her fleeing the scene a “cowardly act”

Following the vicious and fatal attack on Sky TV, Tay said there needs to be “tougher regulation of this”.
“We need to do more with the people who keep these dogs and get them some type of training,” he said.
Jagdeo argued that “charges should be laid against the dog owner,” adding: “She made a choice. She decided to unleash the dog. She made a choice and she has to live with the consequences.”
Vancouver police said they have joined forces with Vancouver Animal Services to investigate the incident, but as of this writing, the dog’s owner has not come forward.
Jagdeo said her family was devastated and Sky’s loss “breaks us all… No one should have to feel this way.”
