The health minister told Aggpres: “Mr Manager submitted his resignation yesterday, effective today.”

On Friday, the management of the “San Pantelimon” Emergency Clinical Hospital issued a statement claiming that it had taken all the necessary legal steps, had cooperated and continued to cooperate with the authorities to establish the truth, and was fully committed to clarifying the circumstances of the tragedy that occurred in the medical unit.

“We fully understand the seriousness of the situation and the negative impact it has on the families of patients, as well as the community’s trust in the health system. We want to emphasize that we are fully cooperating with the competent authorities to find out the facts. At the same time, we conduct an internal investigation into every detail of these events to identify possible shortcomings and take the necessary measures”, said a hospital press release sent to Ajepres on Friday and signed by the manager of the medical department, Bogdan Sosia.

According to the cited sources, the director of nursing, Camelia Stamatoiu, immediately notified the investigative body on April 11, 2024, after registering a written request with the Secretariat to inform the manager in writing.

“It became aware of the facts of the alleged crime on April 10, 2024, but did not inform the manager on that day. Subsequently, the management contract of Ms. Camelia Stamatoiu, Director of Nursing, was terminated before the deadline, based on a proposal by the Board of Directors, which voted unanimously that several contractual clauses (related to loyalty and confidentiality at work) had been violated, without any connection to the ongoing criminal investigation, and, as a result, Ms. Camelia Stamatoiu was reinstated in her position as Medical Assistant at the University Hospital of Bucharest, where she had been suspended during the exercise of her leadership duties”, the cited source said.

According to the press release, in the case of Voicu Dr. Elena Antoaneta, the Disciplinary Committee analyzed the notifications regarding facts that occurred within the last 6 months and found that they contained “particularly serious deviations” from the employment contract, job description and current legislation “endangering the safety of patients and staff,” recommending the termination of the individual’s employment contract.

The release also states that “the manager and HR department have implemented the disciplinary committee’s recommendations.”
