phosphorusBarbadian Member of Parliament, Senior MP Mia Amor Mottley has called on all Barbadians to wear the colours of their country’s flag tomorrow (August 9, 2024) to support Sada Williams in the 200m final at the Olympics.

Williams will become the first woman to represent Barbados in an Olympic track and field final tomorrow at around 2pm local time, and Prime Minister Mottley called on the country to once again unite behind the 2022 Commonwealth Games 200m champion.

“For Sadah, we want to represent the blue, yellow and black. We want to make sure … tomorrow, all of us can let her know as much as possible that we are with her in spirit,” Motley said.

The prime minister added: “We pray for her and we know she will do her best, whatever that is.”

On August 7, Williams qualified for the Paris Olympic final with a score of 49.89 in the semifinals.
