The first quarter of an hour was a close game with neither side taking any risks. We only had to wait twenty minutes for our first chance, with Page saving twice but on the other side, Colley’s header was well placed but missed the target.

Apart from this brief period, the goal was not in danger until half-time, when Page had to save another shot before his team exited the game in a scoreless draw.

Even after the half-time switch, the quiet play continued, with only one long shot from Armenia hitting the target, which Page hit on the sideline.

In the 62nd minute, Felscuti scored their first try of the second half.

The game became a bit more intense in the final half hour, thanks mainly to Ararat taking the initiative, but Fersutti’s defence stood the test of time.

The Hungarian tournament bronze medalists also won the match with a goal from Soissalo at the end of a scattered Hungarian fightback, MTI reported.

With their success in Yerevan, Fersuti has two wins in the OTP Bank League and remains 100% this season. They qualified without a match in the last round as their Ukrainian opponents Dnyipro-1 declared bankruptcy.

The rematch will be held a week later at the Pancho Arena. Italian finalists Fiorentina from the first two games will await the winner in the fourth qualifying round to advance to the main standings, with the loser to be eliminated.
