Electric ships set a record again, this time at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris.
A parade was held on the Seine River, which flows through Paris, with 90 boats participating. One of them was the electric Mistinguett. Specialized in electric water transport torchidon Soft.

At 42 meters long and weighing 240 tons, the vessel is the largest electric boat ever to sail on the river. During the parade, it carried Olympic athletes.
The ship had previously used diesel to run its propulsion system. Diesel generators also provide power for the galley, lighting systems and air cooling.
This year, the vessel has been converted to electric drive, with two Deep Blue 100i engines and six Deep Blue Battery 80 systems. This is part of France’s goal to make tourism and logistics more environmentally friendly than before.
The boat can accommodate up to 248 passengers. It is used for tourist cruises on the Seine. A tourist ride on the Seine takes two and a half hours and is two hours a day. Two batteries provide enough power for this and do not need to be recharged during the day. The other two are responsible for running the electrical equipment on board.
Inland waterway vessels play an important role in France. The country has about 800 km of rivers and 600 km of canals. The electrification of inland waterway vessels is a government goal, with the possibility of state support of up to 90% of the costs.
Three additional electric boats will take part in the Olympic Riverboat Parade.
