An 84-year-old woman from Cluj County is under criminal investigation for theft after she was caught on camera stealing a mobile phone left on the counter of a grocery store in Cluj-Napoca.
“On August 17, a 32-year-old woman from Saraj canton reported to the Cluj-Napoca City Police Department that a man had allegedly stolen her mobile phone on the same day in Horea Street in Cluj-Napoca. The police quickly identified and tracked down the person suspected of committing this act, an 84-year-old woman from the city of Cluj-Napoca,” the Cluj cantonal police said on Saturday evening.
In the pictures published by local media, you can see how the woman saw the phone on the store counter and took it.
According to police, the stolen phone was recovered and returned to the owner.
“Police are still investigating to determine the facts and take necessary legal measures. Currently, the case is being investigated as theft,” said a police representative.
