On Monday, we told you that a charred body was found on the main road leading to the village of Scotch Half Moon in rural Belize. Tonight, police still have not been able to confirm its identity, but as we said, they suspect it is the Ladyville resident who has been missing since last Thursday.

He is 28-year-old Kelvin Usher, who lived at Mile 9 on the Philip Goldson Highway, and we are currently stressing that he is still listed as a missing person. His common-law wife told us on Monday that she does not believe the charred body is Usher’s, but as we have shown you, his mother has provided police with partial identification through a tattoo she recognized on his chest. We have seen posts on Facebook from relatives who have also acknowledged that the charred body is his.

Investigators say they are awaiting the results of an autopsy to be 100% certain if the victim was indeed Usher. The autopsy was originally scheduled for this afternoon but has been postponed until tomorrow.

Residents of Half Moon, Scotland, found the body in the bushes beside the main road leading to the village at around 10 a.m. on Saturday. The body had been burned beyond recognition. Investigators suspect foul play and believe the body was burned somewhere else and then transported to the site where it was found.
