Attendance for professional baseball games reached 8 million, a record low.

The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) announced on the 13th that a total of 47,978 spectators attended the four stadiums where the games were held.

As of the previous day, professional baseball had an attendance of 7,988,527, and the cumulative attendance for the season was 8,036,505.

This is a new record for the lowest number of spectators at 8 million. So far, the KBO league has played 549 games. The previous record of the lowest number of games was shortened by more than 100 games in the 2016 season with 693 games, continuing to set records.

This is the fifth time in history that the audience has exceeded 8 million since the 720 regular season games in the 2015 season.

Expectations are growing that attendance will exceed 10 million for the first time in history this season.
