5 schools in Ghazni province get new buildings – Pajhwok Afghanistan News

Ghazni City (Pajhwok): Construction work on five school buildings costing Afghani 53 million has begun in the southern Ghazni province, an official said on Thursday.

Director of Education Maulvi Naseer Ahmad Hussaini told Pajhwok Afghan News that the buildings will be constructed in Andar and Giroo districts of the province.

The schools where new buildings will be constructed include Khall School, Shaheed Aminullah School, Zigai School, Nazar Walo School and Mullah Mushk Alam School.

According to Husseini, the construction of these school buildings cost 53.5 million Afghanis and was paid by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

Husseini explained that each school building is located on about 2.5 or 4 acres of land and has 12 classrooms, an administrative office, perimeter walls, toilets, water purification points and solar energy equipment.

However, Sher Afzal Afzali, provincial director of YAAR Construction Company, said the company plans to build 10 school buildings in different parts of Ghazni province this year with financial assistance from UNICEF.

Haji Barat, a resident of Khall area in Jiru district, told Pajhwok that their school has no building and students are facing various problems in this regard.

Barratt confirmed that construction work on the school building has begun and will resolve most of the students’ concerns regarding the building.

There are a total of 771 schools in Ghazni province, of which 250 still lack school buildings and students can only study in the open air.
