In her testimony on Wednesday evening, she explained that around 3:15 pm on Monday, when she was at Mahebourg station, she felt unwell and met a certain Akshay Soneea. She allegedly asked the latter, a bus driver, to take her home, and he accepted. But upon arriving in La Rosa, he allegedly took her to an abandoned house, where she spent two nights in the company of the 43-year-old man. They allegedly had sexual intercourse. Based on consistent information received late Wednesday night, the Rossbelle police, accompanied by several volunteers, went to La Rosa. They had to break down the door of an abandoned house and found the girl. Akshay Soneea, also known as Mithun, a bus driver, was arrested at the scene. He faces provisional charges “Subjecting children to sexual abuse” and will appear in Old Port Court on Thursday, July 4.
The suspect, Akshay Soneea, is a divorced father of a 14-year-old girl. As for the little girl, she is currently being examined in the hospital.
