10 suspected CJNG drug traffickers attempt to infiltrate the southern CDMX regions of Tlalpan and Xochimilco

Mexico City (apro) – Mexico City police authorities carried out five searches in the cities of Xochimilco and Tlalpan, detaining 10 suspected drug traffickers who were planning to venture south of the capital; they seized more than 20 kilograms of drugs and high-powered weapons.

The Secretary of Citizen Security (SSC) Pablo Vázquez announced the news on his X account, saying it was the result of a security operation carried out in the capital in collaboration with the Office of the Attorney General of CDMX, adding. : “We continue our efforts to combat groups that create violent and high-impact crimes in the city’s 16 districts.”

The police report assures that the detainees claim to be members of a criminal gang allegedly linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), which intends to start distributing drugs in the municipalities of Iztapalapa, Magdalena Contreras, Milpa Alta, Xochimilco and Trahuac, which they analyze the groups operating in these areas.

The 10 detainees were identified as Eduardo “N”, alias “El Valle”, the leader of the criminal group, from Michoacan; Fabián “N”, Óscar Julián “N” and Brayan “N”, from Jalisco; Ángel “N” from Colima, Cleiber “N” from Venezuela; and María “N”, Eduardo “N”, Francisco “N” and Diego “N”, from CDMX.

According to a statement from the SSC, one of the searches was carried out in three rooms of a hotel located on Prolongación División del Norte Avenue in the Potrero de San Bernardino neighborhood of Xochimilco. There, the authorities seized 110 doses of cocaine, 50 sticks of marijuana, 13.5 kg of loose marijuana, 665 usable cartridges, a firearm, seven bulletproof vests, nine chargers, a car, a motorcycle and seven mobile phones. Five men were arrested at the location.

On February 2, another search took place in the same area, on Sixta Cerrada Street, in the Ampliación Nativitas La Joya neighborhood. A man was arrested and two kilograms of loose marijuana and 227 doses of marijuana, three mobile phones and a white car were seized from him.

A woman and three men were caught on Betancourt Street in the Coapa district, near the Tlalpan mayor’s office, and four kilos of marijuana, three camisole vests and a pair of pants with a military pattern were confiscated from them.

The searched property was sealed and placed under police guard, all items were confiscated, and the 10 detainees were handed over to agents of the Public Ministry.
