At 00:00 on Saturday morning, petrol prices will rise again. GOw2 informed retailers that prices are changing “due to circumstances beyond our control”. The increase is due to additional government levies. Petrol prices are also rising in SOL and Rubis.
For a litre of unleaded petrol, Gow2 costs SRD 38.22 per litre and diesel costs SRD 37.83. Excluding VAT, diesel costs SRD 34.39. A 10% VAT is payable, which is SRD 3.44. The final retail price of diesel is SRD 37.83. The VAT on petrol is SRD 3.47, which means the retail price is SRD 38.22.
Starnieuws has learned that the government’s charge for gasoline has increased from 9 SRD per liter to 10 SRD. For diesel, the government price is 8.50 SRD and will increase to 9.50 SRD.

In SOL, the SRD for unleaded petrol from midnight is 38.90 per litre and the SRD at diesel pumps is 39.12 per litre.
