August 5, 2024, Tahiti. After 10 days of competitions alternating between small and large waves, the local Kauli Vaast brought the first Olympic gold medal to French Polynesia. For France, this is the first gold medal in this event and the 13th gold medal in this Olympic Games.
The 22-year-old Kauli Vaast won with a score of 17.67 to 7.83, hitting two gorgeous waves of 9.50 and 8.17 in a few minutes from the beginning of the series.
