The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Disciplinary Committee has decided to fine Egypt’s Zamalek club $200,000 and ban its fans from attending four games.

The Egyptian Football Association’s media center said on Friday that it had received a notice from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) imposing a financial penalty of $200,000 on the team and banning the team’s fans from attending four games, while suspending the deprivation penalty. The CAF Confederation Cup final against RS Berkane and poor organization led to a drop in fan attendance at two of the four games.

The African Union gave the Zamalek government three days to appeal the sanctions, provided it is accompanied by evidence and proof that the council had no involvement in the events of the CAF Cup final.

Zamalek won the CAF Cup by beating RS Berkane 1-0 in the second leg of the final after Morocco won the first leg 2-1.
