The African Development Bank Group and the Global Centre on Adaptation (GCA) are jointly implementing a strategic partnership, the Africa Adaptation Acceleration Program (AAAP), which aims to mobilize $25 billion to scale up and accelerate climate change adaptation actions across Africa.
Eligibility Criteria
- Age – Entrepreneurs must be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Citizenship of the founders – The founders must be of African nationality or the founders must play an active role in the operations of the business.
- Geographic location and legal registration of the company – The business must be legally registered in Africa.
- Profitability – The business must have generated profits over the past two years.
- Impact/Climate Adaptation – Businesses must demonstrate a direct impact on climate adaptation and resilience.
- Gender Only women-owned businesses are eligible – 51% of the equity should be owned by women.
- Industry – must belong to the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies.
