The Cook Islands Under-16 girls Oe Vaka team made history by winning bronze at the 2023 IVF World Rowing Long Course Championships in Apia, Samoa.
The girls are looking forward to another world event next month – the 2024 International Va’a Federation (IVF) World Elite and Club Sprint Championships in Hilo, Hawaii.
They are now members of the Cook Islands U19 women’s team, which includes Pourie Kaina, Metua-Ani Raea-Araitia, Emii Akava, Hiti Lenoir, Te-Iri Henderson, Isabella Nicholas, Mila Nicholas, Taira Tangaroa and Aleida Tere.
To help the girls get to Hilo, a super fun CC Tamure and Cardio Combat fundraising session coached by Luciana Matenga and Mona Taio will be held at Te Are Karioi Nui (National Hall Dome) tomorrow morning (Saturday, July 20) at 6:30am.
Tickets cost $12 and all CC Tamure tickets purchased will be entered into a draw for a chance to win a two-hour guided motorboat tour around the island (valued at $600), Emilene’s exquisite black pearl jewellery and vouchers for beauty treatments at Purotu Spa.
We will be selling delicious breakfast and snacks for you to enjoy after your workout.
