Last week, veteran relief pitcher Tim Hill emerged as a World Series contender after a stint with the Chicago White Sox.

Hill agreed to a one-year contract with the New York Yankees on Thursday.

The New York Yankees announced today that they have signed left-handed pitcher Tim Hill to a major league contract and added him to the active roster.

To make room on the 40-man roster, the Yankees have designated left-hander Clayton Andrews for assignment.
